The model minority myth of Asian Americans somewhat belies their history and experience in the United States. Their achievements are to be celebrated, but their history presents diverse experiences as cheap laborers, as target of internment, as military brides, and as war adoptees. Their drive for success is equally met with stereotypes about Asian sexuality, gender, and political capacity. What are the conflicting sides of Boreans or Linsanity? why do stereotypes continue? This talk raises these issues with the hope of empathy, solidarity, and empowerment among all racial and ethnic community.
